Karen J. Kessler has counseled clients on sensitive issues including regulatory inquiries, personnel matters, business practices and criminal and civil litigation for more than 25 years. A reliably provocative commenter on reputation issues for print and broadcast, Karen has served as an on-air reputation consultant to the “NBC TODAY SHOW” and others, and was a technical consultant to the television shows, “THE GOOD WIFE” and “NASHVILLE”.
Karen has served on the Board of Directors of telecommunications companies, arts organizations and scholarship funds. Currently Chair of the Executive Business Cabinet of Rutgers Business School’s Institute for Ethical Leadership, she was the inaugural Chairman of the Board of Trustees of AllSpire Health Partners, the nation’s largest health consortium, and served as Chair of the Board of Atlantic Health System from 2008 to 2015. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Northfield Bancorp, Inc., and Cinram Corporation and is the only non-attorney on the NJ Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct. In 2015, Karen accepted the Thurgood Marshall “Award of Excellence” for outstanding achievement. She has been recognized as NJ BIZ’s “50 Most Powerful Non-Profit Board Members”, “50 Most Powerful Women”, SmartCEO’s “40 Top NJ Businesswomen”, Jewish Women International’s “10 Women to Watch in the USA” and NJ Monthly Magazine’s “Leading Women Entrepreneurs”.
Early in her career, Karen served as Vice President of Corporate Communications for the American Stock Exchange. She was the Director of Transition for New Jersey Governor-Elect Jim Florio and a commissioner of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority.
